1. CHILEAN DIPLOMATS AND RETURNING PERSONNEL FROM FOREIGN MISSIONS OR INTERNATIONAL ORGANISM, SUCH AS WORLD BANK, FMI, INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL OF DEFENCE AND OTHERS:

  • HOUSEHOLD GOODS:
  • Could import up to US$ 25.000, 00 in household goods duty and tax-free.
  • REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FROM THE ORIGIN AGENT
    • Original Bill of Lading / Air Way Bill
    • Legible packing in English or Spanish
  • REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FROM CLIENT
    • Chilean diplomats that return from Missions abroad: The Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs arranges a complete document set to be provided to Chilean customs and once ready, he must provide to Blue Horizon Shipping Inc a copy of valued packing of the HOUSEHOLD GOODS plus an authorization document for clearance.
    • Chilean personnel that return from International Organizations. Blue Horizon Shipping Inc will arrange a complete document set together with client, so as to be provided to the custom Chilean authorities.
    • The client must bring from the International Organization, the Certificate(s) that shows the dates of his permanence abroad working with the specific Office. Beside, the certificate must show the salaries received during each year of work.
    • The client also must show his working contract or commission letter.
    • Documents must be original.

2. FOREIGN CITIZENS WITH WORKING VISA O TEMPORARY VISA FOR MORE THAN OVER YEAR:

  • HOUSEHOLD GOODS:
  • It can be imported household goods up to value of US $5.000,00 duty free
    • It can be imported more articles than the quantity mentioned above, but paying 26% approximate over CIF value (from what exceeds US$ 5.000,00)
    • It can be imported two or more shipments from different origins. Owner must be in Chile before the shipment arrival for document purposes.
    • Shipments must arrive no later than 120 days from owner arrival into the country.
  • REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
    • Express Release, Telex Release or Original Bill of Lading for sea shipments. Original Air Way Bills and original legible packing list in English or Spanish from agent.
    • Client must sign a couple of forms in Chile, which are provided by Blue Horizon Shipping Inc such as the authorization form for customs declaration and clearance.
    • Client also has to provide his passport copy in which it is shown the identification page, the last entrance into Chile and the stamped working visa.
    • The valuation for Chilean customs is done by our imports department, so as to reduce or avoid, if possible, duties payment.
  • VEHICLES:
    • Only new vehicles can be imported, which will pay full taxes and duties.
    • Only commercial Invoice is required.

3. FOREIGN DIPLOMATS:

    • HOUSEHOLD GOODS:
      New or used household can be imported. The Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs will provide an Import Licence duty-free upon request of his Organism or Embassy. His authorizations will directly depend on client’s status.

 

  • REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
    • Original Bill of Lading / Original Air Way Bill
    • Legible packing in English or Spanish
    • The Embassy / Organization will provide to BLUE HORIZON SHIPPING INC, proforma invoice and a written authorization for clearing the shipment.
  • VEHICLES:
    • Only new vehicles can be imported duty and tax free, on condition that the value is within the total allowed authorization by the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
    • The only document required is the commercial Invoice

4. RETURNING CHILEAN CITIZENS AS PER THEIR TIME LEAVING ABROAD:

  • HOUSEHOLD GOODS:
    • The returning Chileans, that have been abroad more than 6 months, but less than 1 year, are only allowed to import up to US $ 500, 00 of used household goods or personal effects.
    • The returning Chileans, that have been abroad more than 1 year and less than 5 years, are only allowed to import up to US $3.000, 00 of household goods.
    • The returning Chileans, that have been abroad more than 5 years, are only allowed to import up to US $5.000, 00 of used household good.
    • The client must be in Chile before the shipment arrival.
    • Shipment must arrive within 120 days of client arrival.
  • REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
    • Express Release or Original Bill of Lading for sea shipments /Original Air Way Bill for air shipments.
    • Legible packing in English or Spanish
    • The client must sign the custom declaration and authorization for clearing the shipment upon its arrival. We provide the Form.
    • Original Certificate issued by the International Police Office in Santiago, in which shows the shipper’s travel record (in/out of Chile) applicable to the mentioned categories.
    • Passport copy, in which it is shown the identification page and the last entrance into Chile.
  • VEHICLES:
    • The returning Chileans that are citizen could import used vehicles, on condition that they have been abroad more than 1 year. Taxes and duties are paid.

    • Question should be fill in a form in the same web page and it will be delivery to the client a tracking number. Customs will have ten days to send him a reply.
    • Documents required are commercial Invoice and Property Proof (Title)
    • Also new vehicles can be imported under a standard import regulation for this product.

PETS:

  • Dogs and cats must arrive with the International Health Certificate and vaccination certificate
  • Documents must arrive together with Air Way Bill
  • Quarantine is not applicable
  • Pets must be immediately released upon arrival. Send a pre-alert with documents by fax or mail.
  • Pets must arrive during working hours and working days.
