CUSTOMS REGULATIONS:
- HOLDERS OF RESIDENCE CARDS MAY BRING IN USED HOUSEHOLD GOODS AND PERSONAL EFFECTS DUTY-FREE IF IN CUSTOMER’S POSSESSION FOR AT LEAST SIX MONTHS PRIOR TO MOVE
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:
- Passport
- Customs Declaration (in French)
- Medical Certificate
- Work Permit
- Certificate of Residence obtained from the Commune
PROHIBITED ITEMS:
- Firearms
- Drugs
- Ammunition
- Articles derived from endangered species such as ivory
DUTIABLE/RESTRICTED ITEMS:
- Alcoholic beverages
- New furniture
PETS:
- Dogs and cats permitted with recent Health Certificate
- Medical examination may be required on arrival
- Regulations are often changing; consult the Consulate for specific details
MOTOR VEHICLES:
- Permitted duty-free if the car has been in owner’s possession and used for at least six months and owner is transferring residence to Luxembourg
- Documents required (in addition to above):
- Certificate of Residence
- Original Title
- Insurance Certificate covering the previous six months
